@other.chelle

Meet my doppelganger on Instagram, other.chelle.

I have had an Instagram account since 2010. It started as a visual collection of my life, encompassing snippets of what I did and ate, and who I was with. Pre-kids, it was places and faces with a lot of coffee and food. Post-kids, it was the family and baby cheeks.

And there were books. There was always books, because that’s who I am. But I made the decision to make it exclusively books in March of 2018.

Don’t worry, you’ll see most of the older pictures on my feed still. I’ve taken a lot of photos of my kids off the public display, but everything is still there. I have a personal family account for the kids for family, and that’s where they will mostly stay.

Transitioning to #Bookstagram has been visually fulfilling.

My feed is unique, and there is a small population of a minimalist approach  to book-centric flatlays. I love it, because that is what I gravitate towards. So, I created something that I wanted to see.

Fast forward to earlier this year. As I was looking through my IG feed and archiving photos of the kids, I realized that I used to post about so much (and so many selfies). I missed talking about food, movies, tv, and music. I would normally talk about it here and there on IG stories, but it didn’t seem the same.

@other.chelle

I don’t have any plans to make the new space as curated as I have with my current space. I still want to prioritize books and stories, at least in my foreseeable future.

I want other.chelle to be fun and light, filled with color! I want it to reflect the other side of my personality and showcase my other interests. 2019 has already been a great year, and I want to make sure I document it all!

See you around!
